Assigned as an interpreter to a mysterious alien race, Liaison Sadie Beckit crosses multiple star systems to the remote Cyngi home world on an old space freighter. Knowledge is essential when dealing with aliens. A misspoken word or a careless gesture could lead to wars so liaisons are necessary to keep the peace, but Sadie is kept in the dark about her new employer. This mysterious species has chosen to withhold most of their culture and language information.

All she’s told is to accompany Ambassdor Nual back to Central Station. Sounds easy enough, but the lawless void of space holds many dangers.

ALIEN ATTACHMENTS is a surprisingly delightful romantic science fiction that I zipped through in one sitting.

Billionaire Ian Cavacent is a Sandarian, and his family was given the rights to mine carnium (a precious element) from Earth while at the same protecting the planet from other alien species who might seek to conquer Earth. Their activity is hidden from the humans, and only special humans called Support Agents (SA) know of them. Dani is a friend of Jared, one of the SA, and she was caught in the crossfire when Torogs (the hostile aliens) came into Jared's bar and pursued them all the way to Ian's villa, which was equipped with weapons and defenses designed to withstand alien invasion.

Unfortunately, the aliens seem to be sporting new technology, and they have no choice but to flee to Sandaria. But is Sandaria safe? What about the attraction between Ian and Dani and the half-formed bond between them?

The worldbuilding is superb. The author built a believable world in Sandaria, just that little bit different from Earth so that readers would be able to imagine it. I especially liked the arena where Dani gets to practice her psi powers, and the sims that they run for training.

I enjoyed the story a lot as I was swept up into a fascinating alien world. However, don't worry, as this is not hardcore science fiction, so it's easy to read, and the concepts are easy to grasp. The author's writing flows and reads well, and her characters, though many, are varied and distinct from one another.

As far as job hazards go, Douglass Fraser didn't think crash-landing on an alien planet and spending her recuperation being erotically pleasured by three gorgeous men was in the United Planetary Parcel Service's courier handbook. There certainly wasn't a section on what to do when a very sexy king wants you to have his baby and save his world.
